But will I ever again see anything quite as beautiful from a train as Canada? I somehow doubt it.

from: Around the world by rail: part seven - Vancouver to Toronto
Maggie O’Sullivan takes four nights to cross Canada by rail. In winter, that’s three days and four nights of snow.

Celebrate the change of seasons on Friday December 21st on Granville Island, in South East False Creek, in Yaletown, Chinatown, and on the East Side with the Winter Solstice Lantern Festival. Presented by the Secret Lantern Society, this free family event will have lanterns, singing, dancing, and a processions through town. Photo:

Where’s Waldo in Google Maps? by Si1very on Flickr.

“Where’s Waldo in Google Maps?

Canadian artist Melanie Coles built a large image of the iconic “Waldo” onto a rooftop at an undisclosed location in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.”

I’ll tell you this much, it’s on the roof of a building on 4th in Kitsilano. If you figure out the location, message me.

“Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki says he has left his eponymous foundation so he can continue to speak out about issues without damaging the organization’s charitable status.”

The organization’s charitable status is damaged because the Canadian government is giving the CRA additional funds to investigate environmental charities that question the government’s environmental policies.

When a critic of the government is silenced by that government using these “legal” means, it sure sounds like harassment.

This is free and open democracy?

There’s something wrong with this picture.
